As some of you may know, this year Shaping Futures has taken on the Community Garden Allotment in Warsop.
The allotment is a 15-minute walk from the Sherwood Street setting and over the last two weeks children have been going up to visit and plant seeds.
Today some of the children took a trip up to plant sunflower seeds. While there we met a lovely lady who kindly let us look at her chickens! We also were able to pick our freshly grown rhubarb that we’ll be taste testing tomorrow!
The allotment is providing us with so many amazing opportunities, such as supporting the children’s knowledge of growing cycles and the natural world, as well as the fantastic benefits of spending time outside in nature.
We are communicating with other allotment owners and forming great positive relationships within our friendly community.
